Hoge Vuursche, a state-managed woodland area close to us, is a mess at the moment and the picture below sums it all up.

Hooge Vuursche in the mud

Normally, it's a great place to walk, especially with a dog as there are always plenty of other dogs to meet and lots of variety, plus the chance to swim when it's too warm for a dog.

Now all the paths are mud, trees are ripped out everywhere and it's difficult to find places to walk that are unaffected by the industry. Instead of pruning the trees in small areas at a time, they seem to have attacked the whole place at once.

Hopefully everything will be reset when they've finished, except for the huge areas of missing trees which won't be replaced in my lifetime, but at least the paths should be redone.
